ARS in Action in Beirut

The Araxi Boulghourdjian Socio-Medical Center has been operating in the Armenian-populated region of Bourj Hammoud since 1987. On the day of the Beirut Explosion, although the center staff witnessed damages in their home, they selflessly returned to the Medical Center to care for community members who had suffered from injuries. At one point doctors were operating with cell phone flash lights.

Providing Meals to the Needy

The “Vartouhi Degirmenjian” Kitchen of the Armenian Relief Cross of Lebanon (ARS Lebanon) prepares hot meals for disadvantaged families. Two days after the Beirut explosion, they had already prepared 1,000 meals for the most vulnerable in their community.
